Closer to 40

So yesterday was my birthday. My buddies at work were supposed to take me to the Buffalo Wing Factory, but Toe had the flu, Pete is at Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Will had a Vocus demo and Bryce was busy talking about how much he likes to ski and how much he likes Mount Snow and Rossignol skis. My kids made be a Betty Crocker cake with Dancan Hines icing. I got a Wilson tennis racquet and Nike tennis shoes, shorts and tennis shirt. I also got a new Taylor Made driver. I wanted a Lexus or Acura, but we have a big mortgage that we can't refinance, so times are tough. I spent some time with my kids playing our Nintendo Wii and Sony playstation and then Lisa and I watched some TV on our Vizio 42" 1080P LCD television. I went online and read a little about the New York Yankees and the A-ROD steroid scandal and a little about the New York Giants and the upcoming NFL draft on ESPN and CBS Sportsline, and then I went to sleep on my new Serta mattress. I am tired, but I have a lot of work to do here on my DELL computer, so I'll check in later!

Sales question!

This can go out to sales professionals or to decision makers. Answer me this, when it is ones fiduciary responsibility to find the solution that offers their company the best value, why do so many refuse to listen, or stick with the lowest price? Every expert will tell you that value should be the determining factor, and what frustrates me most is that the person I am trying to reach, or who is saying that my solution is too expensive even though it is the best solution, is in a weekly meeting with C-level executives at their own company discussing how best to gain market share with a product that is better but more expensive. It is a do as I say not as I do mentality that frustrates me to no end. Quality has been replaced by cheap, and often by people struggling to stay afloat. Gain efficiency and productivity and let the return work on your bottom line. Cheap crap is still crap! And these executives scratch their echoing heads with their freshly manicured fingers and wonder why the economy is in shambles. Arghh!!!!

Moron

When it comes to anything IT related I am a moron. I am learning though! My future posts will include my thoughts on the topics of the day. For example, today's topic is gas, and let me tell you, I have plenty of it right now. Okay, that was more me being silly, but it's late and I am waiting for a prospect to call me back. Sales post coming up!

Random Thoughts

So my buddy Toe created a blog about a week ago and hasn't shut up about it. I like it, and I have a lot of random and useless thoughts as well as irrefutable opinions to share with the world. Plus, my life is actually pretty interesting, although I don't know how much of that I will be allowed to share. It depends on whether or not I tell my wife I have a blog. I am a blogger. I still don't know how much I understand that, but I love my wife and I don't understand her at all, so I'll give it a shot. Comments are welcome, but if you criticize me I am likely to curse at you under my breath. I like my friends. They make me laugh. We have grown up, so our interactions have changed and lessened, but I know I can count on them if I ever need to, except maybe Kidder. I think that's okay for now.
